Round Table on the Role of Standards for Strengthening the Security of Radioactive Sources

On invitation from the World Institute of Nuclear Security participated in

the Round Table on the Role of Standards for Strengthening the Security

of Radioactive Sources used in Medical Applications held during January

22-23, 2019 at Arcotel, Vienna. I found the interactions very useful and

informative. As usual in all WINS meeting the importance of security of

radioactive sources got highlighted. The group considered the status of

connected segments such as Security-by-Design, governance and

certification arrangements for individuals involved in security of

radioactive sources and future road map of standards. Had useful

discussions with Ionna Iliopulos and Michal Kuca and hope to carry the

interactions further.
